Of all the debut songs we've heard this year, OKAY KAYA's 'Damn Gravity' arrested us the most, without even saying all that much. That's KAYA's biggest talent, though - the power to dazzle using little more than her crisp, billowing vocal and a sparsely arranged backing track. That instrumental support is provided by none other than Tobias Jesso Jr. on new track 'I'm Stupid (But I Love You)', where once again, fluttering piano progressions are just enough to draw you into her sweetly downbeat world for a few beautiful minutes. Rest assured, you'll be getting to know the NYC-based Norwegian crooner a lot better next year. - DC
